This meeting is the 6th annual meeting of the SOOS Scientific Steering Committee. The meeting is open to Committee members, ex-officio members, national representatives and sponsor representatives. Key topics of discussion include updates and review of working groups, and plans for moving forward with the Implementation Plan.
The SOOS SSC meeting will be held at the Atlantic Hotel Sail City, Am Strom 1, Bremerhaven, Germany. See the accommodation section below for links to maps and how to get there. The Atlantic Hotel Sail City is located a short distance away from the Alfred-Wegener Institute, who have kindly agreed to be the local hosts for this meeting.
The meeting will be held over three days (11-13th June 2017):
Day 1 and 2: General SOOS business, review of Working Group progress, products and outputs from 2015/2016, Planning for implementation activities in 2017/2018.
Day 3: Morning Session - joint SOOS-AWI Symposium (located at AWI lecture theatre); Afternoon Session - joint SOOS SSC-DMSC session (located at hotel)

Getting To Bremerhaven:
The closest airport to Bremerhaven is the Bremen Airport. Direct flights to Bremen are possible from Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London (both City and Stansted).
From Bremen Airport you can either take a taxi (approx. € 80) or the train to Bremerhaven.
