SOOS DMSC Appoints new Co-chair

The SOOS Data Management Sub-Committee (DMSC) is thrilled to announce a new co-chair. Francesco Misurale will lead the DMSC together with Petra ten Hoopen in advising SOOS on managing & publishing data from Southern Ocean observation projects. We warmly welcome Francesco and are excited to be working with him on all things Southern Ocean data.

Francesco Misurale is a Project and Data Manager at ETT spa, a prominent Italian private company specializing in data management and representation. ETT is the leader of the EMODnet Physics program, actively participating in various oceanographic research initiatives with a focus on data infrastructure and management.

Francesco has a background in academic research encompassing marine life science, ecotoxicology, and oceanography. Subsequently, he  joined ETT as a valuable member of the EMODnet Physics team, overseeing project and data management for several European oceanography projects. With reference to it, he has taken charge of the SOOSmap portal and data pipeline, skillfully managing data integration and representation in close collaboration with SOOS DMSC.
