SOOS in Action

SOOS not only brings together existing communities and efforts, but also initiates activities and product development towards enhancing Southern Ocean observations.

SOOS-driven activities are carried out by Regional Working Groups, Capability Working Groups and Task Teams, towards achieving the objectives set out in the 5-Year Implementation Plan.

National and international field activities also contribute significantly to SOOS, and are highlighted in SOOS connected observing initiatives, international programs and endorsed projects.
