Federated Metadata Search for Polar Regions

There is so much data and so many places to go looking for it that data discovery is a perpetual problem for Southern Ocean scientists. The Polar Data Discovery Enhancement Research (POLDER) team has identified more than 70 metadata catalogues that hold data relevant to SOOS scientists. Together with other polar data managers, POLDER has developed a federated metadata search to simultaneously search all of these catalogues:
