Southern Ocean Data Portals and Catalogues
Metadata portals provide information about available datasets and allow users to search for relevant data using keywords, geographic locations, time periods or specific variables. They help researchers identify what data exist, understand their content and characteristics, and locate where the data can be accessed by directing users to the relevant data providers or repositories. Some portals also bring together metadata from multiple repositories, offering a centralised way to discover datasets from across different sources.

SOOS Metadata Portal (by NASA)
Searches metadata records relevant to SOOS science themes, sourced from NASA's International Directory Network (IDN), now part of the Common Metadata Repository (CMR). Includes spatial, keyword and temporal searches.

Polar Data Search (by POLDER)
Federated search across more than 70 polar metadata catalogues. Brings together records from multiple sources in one search interface, covering both Arctic and Antarctic research. Brought to you Polar Data Discovery Enhancement Research (POLDER).
