POLDER Update July 2024

The Polar Data Discovery and Enhancement Research (POLDER) working group has continued to support interested repositories in implementing the "POLDER best practice guide to implementing schema.org for data discovery" (source). Our latest repository addition is the Arctic Research Foundation (ARF). Moving forward, the POLDER working group and the Polar Observing Assets working group (POA WG) will utilize the Polar to Global Interoperability (P2G) space to collaboratively create a schema.org profile for observation assets and networks. Additionally, the ESIP Science-on-schema.org (SOSO) cluster has agreed to create the implementation guidelines for repositories and organizations.
In the next year or so, the POLDER working group plans to further collaborate with the Local Contexts organization as they develop a schema.org profile for Traditional Knowledge and BioCultural (TK/BC) labels for repositories. We will continue to support any interest repositories in any of the above tasks! Please let us know!
